A fixed desk at RedDeskCo is your desk. It is assigned to you and nobody else uses it. You can set it up however you like and leave everything in place when you go home. Your monitor stays on your desk. Your mug stays on your desk. Your notes, your stationery, and your personal items stay where you put them.
This is not a desk you reserve through an app or a website. It is not a desk that gets cleaned and reset every evening. It is your workspace, in the same way that a desk in a traditional office is your workspace. The only difference is that you are in a shared office with other people who have their own fixed desks, rather than in a private office on your own.
The practical difference is significant if you work from a coworking space every day. With a hot desk, your morning starts with finding a free desk, plugging in, and adjusting your chair. With a fixed desk, your morning starts with sitting down and working. That sounds small, but it adds up over weeks and months.
There is also the equipment question. Most hot-desking spaces do not provide monitors, and bringing your own is impractical when you have to set it up and take it down every day. At RedDeskCo, most members have a monitor on their desk. Several have full setups with external keyboards, mice, desk lamps, and even small plants. It is your space to make productive and comfortable.
Most coworking spaces in Peckham lead with hot-desking. Peckham Levels offers hot desks from £210 plus VAT (£252 effective). Market Peckham offers studio and desk memberships in a large, busy creative environment. Office Club in the Bussey Building is another hot-desk option.
RedDeskCo is different. We only offer fixed desks. There is no hot-desking option at all. At £225 per month with no VAT, a fixed desk here is cheaper than a hot desk at Peckham Levels once VAT is included. You also get your own permanent workspace rather than a different desk every day.

A fixed desk is a permanent desk assigned to you and nobody else. You can leave your equipment, monitor, and personal items set up overnight. At RedDeskCo, every desk is fixed. We do not offer hot-desking at all.
